Getting out of the Pit
So, as many of you know I have been working on the bible study "Get out of the Pit" by Beth Moore. I have been having a really hard time with the whole trusting of God things due to things that have been happening to me.
These past few days we have had some good friends staying with us. They are amazing Godly people who are always there for you when you need them! She will bring up how God has been working in their lives, or tell me about some verse's she just read. She is such an encouragement to me! So,tonight I decided to get back to my study and the last verse I read was this.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kids of trials. These have come so that you faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:6-7
WOW!! Talk about an eye opener! We all go through things that - to be blunt- completely suck. We need to just remember God puts us through these things so that our faith will be brought back to HIM! He doesn't want us to suffer, he wants us to go to him in prayer and renew our faith in him!
This was an amazing study to read tonight! I highly recommend any of Beth Moores studies!!! She is amazing!

A New Challenge *Thanks to my sister in law! :)
So, I was sitting here trying to think of a fun thing to do for the announcements for my church this week, I got onto my face book account. My sister in law's status read "trying to have a Mary heart in a Martha world. Confused?? Check out Luke 10:38-42." Of course I was confused, so to the bible I went and found this.....
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said.
40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
So, this week I challenge all of you to be a little more like Mary. Remind yourself to let go of petty distractions of the day and focus on the eternal perspective.

Challenge of the Day!
So, my amazing husband says to be this morning. I have a challenge for you today. I bet you can't go the whole day without turning the TV on for you or the kids. I looked at him funny and he said "actually, I bet we can't go the whole day without TV." Boy, I took that challenge. I am the one who wanted to put our TV on "vacation" this summer and I do believe he was the one who complained?! :) So today, we have no TV. The kid's were a bit perturbed this morning when we said no cartoons, but changed their attitude quickly when they realized that meant they got to go to grandma's and play at the park all morning!
So instead of playing the husband and I got the privilege of cleaning the house, weeding the garden, working on the deck, and catching up on laundry. Not so fun, but it definitely needed done. Now, I'm relaxing on the computer and my husband is out still working on the deck. Do I feel bad? A little, but he hasn't asked for my help yet! :)
I can't complain to much, because we did get the joy of going out to eat on our date for the week. Of course Taco Johns isn't a romantic place but, Angela's was closed :(
Monday Menu Plan!
So this week we are going fairly simple. We are trying to get old things out of the fridge and freezer! Plus it's suppose to be nice and rainy :( so we are going for some oven meals!
Monday: Chicken Noodle Casserole (freezer)
Tuesday: Grilled Chicken Salad
Wednesday: Cabbage Burgers/I'm going to make a double batch and freeze the remaining. Also, my aunt gave me the idea to make ham/turkey and cheese pockets out of them, so I will be trying that with 2 or 3 each! :)
Thursday: Chicken Enchilada's (Freezer)
Friday: Left Overs
Saturday: We are doing a picnic down town since it's fur trade days. Hopefully we will be worrying more about the carnival ;) hehe
Sunday: Potluck at church then leftovers for supper!
Not a very exciting week, but fairly easy!

Time to get personal.....
So, First I want to start off on a positive note. These are my babies, without them I would be lost. They were given to me at a time in my life when I was young, vulnerable, and full of love.
I, like many people suffered from PPD. I have struggled with this a lot. Lately I have felt like I've been in more of a rut. I recently suffered a miscarriage, my angel would have been due tomorrow, July 4, 2010. I have dreaded this day for weeks now. I'm not expecting anything great or bad to happen tomorrow. I'm going into this day with my head up and no intention of letting it get to me.
However, tonight I was sitting here working on the computer, thinking about the dreaded day AGAIN and looked over and saw this book that I had purchased to use for some giveaways next year during MOPS. I decided to pick it up and look through it. The first paragraph I read was this.
"You don't have to stay in the pit. Even if you deserve it. Even if you've known nothing else. Just call it a day. Maybe you're wondering why you can't get satisfied there. After all, didn't Paul say we learn to be content in any circumstance?
A pit is one place you're not suppose to be content. Quit trying to make the best of it. It's time to get out. When Christ said, "come, follow me," inherent in His invitation to come was the equivalent invitation to leave. The laws of physics tell you that if you try to get one place without leaving another, you're in for a pretty severe stretch. You can only do splits so long!" *Beth Moore
Now, I realize that to some of you this may mean nothing. However, I took this as a sign of my rut needing to be over. It's time to pick up the pieces and stop dwelling on things that have happened. I need to leave my "pit."
I first studied Beth last Feb-March with an awesome group of women and she never ceases to amaze me. Her teaching always make me feel as if she is staring at me and talking to me.
I usually don't talk about this with a lot of people, in fact, some of you may be shocked I even shared this. I just really feel like it is time to get this out and work on crawling or jumping rather; out of my rut! It is not a fun place to be and not a place I intend to stay much longer!
Before I sign off I do want to give two huge shout outs! My mom and totally been there for me though all of this. Random late night phone calls and lots of trips to see me!
Also, Jen B. I haven't seen you for 2 years, yet I still feel like we are as close as we were then. Thanks for the VERY late night chats (even with a newborn at home!) and the many times you let me cry like a baby! ;) Thanks for all the prayers and advice throughout all of this! Love you guys! :)
